This update is mostly for those of you who have been playing with the winlink "Findu" postion reporting service, since I will send it out with a Position report. We are 36 miles out from Isla Pinos at the eastern end of the San Blas archipelago. We have had a simply fabulous day and night of sailing. Sailors among you, can you imagine 12 kts, on the beam, seas 1-2'? On the beam!!! I can't remember ever actually sailing anywhere I wanted to go on a beam reach! It started out iffy; it was looking like we might have to motor the whole way, but two hours out, we shut down, and its beem idyllic ever since...to the point that we need to slow down! To top it off, we had a superb sunset, and the moon is only two days past full, the sky is mostly clear and the stars bright!

Fishing has been a little less successful. We caught a big barracuda 30 minutes out of the anchorage, and since he was bigger than our arm, we threw him back. About six hours later we discover we were trolling with naked monofilament, our expensive lure gone! Finally, when we reeled the line in before dark, we had a nice catch of seaweed! Oh well, freezer's full.
