Electronic Information

Although the creation of this Internet Website is one of my chief occupations as we cruise, the irony is we have almost no exposure to the Internet ourselves! In the Updates, we include the website addresses for places we visit as we come across them, but we virtually never get the chance to look at them ourselves. The same goes for the websites by other cruisers. However, if you are reading this, then you do have the connection that defines our age! We can imagine the great fun it is to "cruise" electronically from site to site, vicariously sharing the experiences of others and collecting all sorts of resources and information.

Just as not all anchorages we visit please or are even safe, we make no guarantees or promises about the quality of information you may find should you follow any of our included links. They are collected haphazardly and with a few exceptions they are not vetted.

Crewed Chartering in the Virgin Islands

There are a zillion bareboat companies in the world which you can find out about easily in any sailing magazine, but one of the best charter vacations available is not a cookie-cutter "Hertz Rent- A-Boat" experience but a crewed yacht charter. This is what the Two Captains offered on Whisper and Tackless II for eight years in the Virgin Islands. Each crewed charter yacht is an individual business offering a custom tailored vacation. How do you pick? There are special charter yacht brokers who make it their business to match clients to the right boat. With gourmet food and beverage included, specialized activities such as sail instruction or scuba diving, and built-in local knowledge, crewed yachts are often a better value than bareboats with a lot less anxiety for vacationers at the helm or in the galley.
