Information for Cruisers

Dear Fellow Cruisers:

Although thetwocaptains.com website was not conceived as a cruising guide, many cruising sailors following our 'footsteps' have found the website postings useful.

On occasion, I have written articles and compiled cruising notes on particular areas that are specifically targeted to fellow cruisers. With the aim of making these more easily available, I am posting them in this section of the website.

DISCLAIMER: Use at your own risk! These are the writings of an amateur, with no warranties against errors of any kind. All observations, in particular any specific waypoints, should be confirmed against other sources before using. Waypoints are included to identify a location NOT to provide a universal end point for a particular route. Plugging in any waypoint indiscriminately may result in driving your boat into a hazard. Additionally, the safety and security of cruising areas, like Colombia, for example, should be assumed to be in flux and should be checked against more current reports. Finally, it should be noted that our observations and enthusiasms are subjective, based on the experiences we had, at a particular time of year, going in a particular direction.
